Setting Out Training for Beginners

If you're new to site engineering or surveying, this 5-day setting out course is designed for beginners with little or no experience. You’ll learn how to use real site equipment including total stations, GNSS systems, and levelling tools while building the practical skills needed to start working on construction sites.

Site Surveying Training Course

This course also includes practical site surveying training, giving you the skills to carry out accurate measurements, levels, and layouts on real construction projects.

You’ll gain hands-on experience using modern surveying equipment and learn how surveying and setting out work together on site.

What Jobs Can This Lead To?

After completing the course, most people move into entry-level roles such as:

• Trainee Surveyor
• Site Engineer Assistant
• Junior Setting Out Engineer

Typical starting salaries: £24,000–£30,000, depending on location and employer, with higher earnings as you gain experience.
